Melissa met me in Visalia and we drove up into the Santa Cruz Mountains for time amongst nature and the natural inhabitants (see below!) of the central coast environs.

And at the apex of this climb, I quite nervously professed my love for Melissa and asked her what I had been rehearsing in my brain for months previously: to be my wife. She said no at first because she did not believe my pleas for her hand in marriage to be real. Once she realized the gravity of the situation, we were fiance'd!

In lieu of engagement rings, Ted and I decided to mark our commitment to commit in ink. And, it just so happens that Nicole's step dad, David, has been teaching himself how to tattoo. So one night, Ted drove down from Visalia, and I drove up from Westminster, and we convened at David and Rene's lovely home in Bakersfield.

Ted went first.

And then I went next.

Rene made us delicious burritos for dinner and we got to spend some time with their family before heading home.

T + M FUR LIFE
